Sister Norma Poma Arpi, IHM
January 28, 2006Sr. Norma Poma Arpi, IHM, made profession of temporary vows into the hands of Sr. Mary Persico at a Eucharistic Liturgy on Saturday, January 28, 2006. The liturgy and ceremony were celebrated in the chapel of San Felipe, in the prelature of Sicuani, Peru. The celebrant, Rev. Victor Ramos, was joined by five priests, Sr. Norma’s family members, many people from the surrounding area, religious from other congregations as well as the IHM Sisters, some of whom traveled to Peru for the occasion.
Sr. Norma, of Arequipa, Peru, came to know the IHM Sisters through her association with the parish of San Felipe and her pastoral experience in working with the IHM Sisters there. She made her novitiate in Lima under the direction of Sr. Michael Marie Hartman. She participated in the coursework offered by the Conference of Religious of Peru.
Currently serving the people in the San Felipe community where the profession took place are Sisters Eileen Egan and Tomasa Fernandez. Serving in Lima, Peru, are Sisters Michael Marie Hartman, Norma Poma Arpi, Jeanne Marie Kearney and Dora Maria Vizcarra.
